THE FBI IS STILL SCARED OF JOHN LENNON!Even 30 years after his death, John Lennon apparently still puts the Federal Bureau of Investigation on edge. In the agency’s latest nosing into Lennon-related affairs, the FBI has banned the would-be auction of the late Beatle’s application for U.S. residency. The piece of memorabilia, which features Lennon’s fingerprints, thumbprints and signature, was scheduled to go on the Rock & Roll Pop Culture auction block this week. Estimates of the value of the document, which is dated May 8, 1976, ranged as high as $100,000. The FBI had no comment on the matter, but a non-Bureau government official said, "There is currently an investigation regarding the John Lennon documents in the auction and it’s being headed by the FBI." |
