94XPOSED FRIDAY OCTOBER 1ST

This date in Rock History was a busy one:

1983 – By reaching #7 on the album chart, Quiet Riot’s “Metal Health” became the most successful heavy metal debut album to date.
1996 – Nirvana released their live album, “From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah.”
2007 – Radiohead’s website crashed when they announced they were making their “In Rainbows” album available for whatever price people wanted to pay for it.
1966, Jimi Hendrix appeared live for the first time in the U.K. when he jammed with Cream at their gig at London Polytechnic.

JUDAS PRIEST - TURBO LOVER

JUDAS PRIEST's  fully autographed tour bike from their 2009 British Steel 30th Anniversary tour will be on display at both the Edmonton and Calgary Tattoo & Arts Festivals as part of a custom bike display.  Rich "Ace" Franklin will also be in attendance as well as hundreds of world renowned tattoo artists! The Smoking Gun reports that Boston hard rock legends AEROSMITH received a guaranteed $1 million payday for their 90-minute performances during their recently completed 18-city U.S. tour, according to an excerpt from one of the band's contracts. In addition, the band stood to earn even more based on its receipt of a percentage of ticket sales above a contractually stipulated amount. AEROSMITH's "Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock Tour" ended on September 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Maybe Steven and the boys should go and reread their lyrics to Eat The Rich. If the songs lyrics are true, then the band has become what they despised!

SIXX: AM - LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Sixx: A.M. will eventually have new music, if they can keep from tinkering and coming up with more material. Singer James Michael says in a video posting that he was in Nashville finishing what he thought were the final touches on their upcoming disc. The vocalist stated that while he’s been at this point before, there were always some last minute changes or creative bursts that pushed back the mixing process. He concludes, “I’m almost done. Hopefully within a couple of days the final mix will be out of my hair and this record will be in your hands very soon. So thanks for being patient.” There is talk that the album will be released in coordination with Nikki Sixx’s new book, “This Is Gonna Hurt,” which is due next March.

2004,
the Lord Mayor of Melbourne officially opened AC/DC Lane, named after the veteran rockers. The Lord Mayor erected the sign to cheers and bagpipes playing the band’s song “It’s Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ’n’ Roll).” The City of Melbourne had extra copies of the sign made, in anticipation of fans stealing them.
