SAMMY HAGAR - MAS TEQUILA
Sammy Hagar is ready to share his story. The vocalist reveals that his autobiography, tentatively titled "Red," is in its final stages and should be ready for release next year. He told the Marin Independent Journal, "The book’s basically done, but the editors want me to go deeper in a couple of areas. They said, ‘There were problems in Van Halen? Well what kind of problems?’ The way I’ve written this book is that I’m just telling stories, from childhood until now. It’s humorous in places, there are sad things, inspirational things." Hagar adds that the book will not only be "sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll," but also "tequila and success and cars and money and fame and fortune." He adds, "I’ve had the most complete friggin’ life on the planet. I can imagine people thinking this guy shouldn’t have done all that in one lifetime, but I’ve been a busy boy."

Bob Dylan's hand-scrawled lyrics for "The Times They are A-Changin'" will be a-sold to the highest bidder during a December 10 auction. The words to the classic protest song were written on "a sheet of unruled three-hole notebook paper," according to Sotheby's auction catalog. The song went on to become the title track of Dylan's 1964 album. The Dylan lyrics sheet will be auctioned off as part of a large collection of books and manuscripts. Sotheby's expects the lot to sell for more than $200,000. The reason that the "The Time They are A-Changin'" lyrics are no longer in Dylan's care is because he ditched the sheet as soon as he memorized the words. He gave the sheet to his folk-singing friend Kevin Krown. When Krown died in the '90s, he left the paper to Mac and Eve McKenzie, who were also fixtures on the New York folk scene in the '60s.

SLIPKNOT - SNUFF
It looks like Slipknot is back to work after the death of founding bassist Paul Gray. "It's already in motion," drummer Joey Jordison told Billboard.com about making a new album. "It's definitely exciting. It's a little emotional, of course, but I think it's going to be really, really cool and I think it's gonna be a really, really great record because everyone's really involved in the process." Jordison said the group is demoing material now but there is no firm timetable for the new record. "It's going to be a little interesting," he acknowledges, "but I think it's gonna be a healing process for all of us. Slipknot is not going anywhere. We're a family, and losing a family member sucks. You can't help that, but you need to move on, and I think that what we're gonna do might be the most powerful thing that we've ever created."

Dave Grohl says "I Should Have Known", the Foo Fighters track featuring ex-Nirvana bandmate Krist Novoselic, is the band's darkest song. It's the first time the pair have worked together in 20 years, but they've never lost touch. The recording process also reunited them with producer Butch Vig, who manned the desk for Nirvana's iconic Nevermind album in 1991. Grohl decided to abandon the trappings of expensive production work for the Foos' first record after taking a break. He wanted to look back at his own and his band's roots, so the new album was recorded in his garage and a movie was shot of the process. And he says the entire concept came to him while he was on tour with supergroup side-project Them Crooked Vultures. The movie and album are expected to see the light of day by mid 2011. Massive Foo Fighters fans like myself are looking forward to a kickass new year!
