Yes, Clash Converse shoes. Joe Strummer would spit all over these. The Chuck Taylors kicks have been released in part to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of 1979's London Calling. Four different designs are available. The first is white with white and green laces and feature "LONDON CALLING" in the same pink font used on the album cover. They're the most expensive, and are going for around $83 Canadian. CLASH - ROCK THE CASBAH ARCADE FIRE - REBELLION (LIES) Arcade Fire’s ties to Haiti run deeper than some may realize. In fact, filmmaker Jonathan Demme tells The Boston Phoenix that he was planning to join the group in filming a documentary in the country prior to the massive earthquake that caused such destruction in January. Demme says, “We were going to do a music driven, kind of music documentary, against a backdrop of carnival in Jacmel – the great, now devastated, south coast Haitian city. We had our final conference call the morning of the day the quake struck. We were gonna go down anyway until we realized we can’t really get there.” Though plans for the documentary have been thwarted, Demme says he still intends to visit within the next six months. Arcade Fire were one of the first acts to rally their fans around Haiti and raising funds to help with the clean-up. -----------------------BREAK------------------
