SEETHER - FAKE IT It appears that Velvet Revolver might have found their "new" frontman: Scott Weiland. The Stone Temple Pilots singer talked about the supergroup, and his current relationship with his former bandmates, in an interview with Classic Rock magazine. "We patched things up and we get along. I see them every now and again, we text each other," Weiland said. "And you know, we can never say never. Who knows, maybe we'll do some shows some time." The singer said he looks back fondly on his tenure with Slash and the boys. "That was a magical thing, too. That was right when I was getting off dope and those guys were all sober and clean, and I had a very special kind of kinship because we'd all experienced the same things," he said. "It felt like us against the world: 'We're gonna play just pure rock 'n' roll.' And I think we did a really good job of it. It was a great band to see live, and I think we made two exciting albums." --------------------------BREAK---------------------------
Kings of Leon have cancelled the rest of their US tour following Caleb Followill's onstage meltdown at the weekend. The frontman appeared tired and emotional during the band's show in Dallas, Texas, as he told the crowd: "I'm going to go backstage and vomit, drink a beer and then come back out and play three more songs." But he didn't return, leaving bassist Jared Followill to apologise to the audience. Responding to the official statement that Caleb had simply been dehydrated Jared tweeted: "I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade." Now the Kings have called off their remaining shows and will take a two-month break. They're set to return to the stage again on September 28 in Canada. An official statement says: "The band are devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break."
KINGS OF LEON - SEX ON FIRE Alice Cooper has set a September 13th release date for his new album, Welcome 2 My Nightmare. Recorded with longtime collaborator Bob Ezrin, who produced the original multi-platinum Welcome To My Nightmare album in 1975, the album picks up right where they left off, with Alice trapped in his own warped mind. The original release is an all-time rock classic that spawned a worldwide theatrical tour and pioneering U.S. TV special, and certified Alice Cooper as a visionary trailblazer whose influence persists today in rock, metal, pop, punk, theatre, television, film and much more. September 13th, Alice's nightmare continues! -------------------------BREAK--------------------------- Butch Vig - The Garbage drummer and producer (Nirvana, Against Me!, Green Day) is 56.
