94XPOSED WEDNESDAY MARCH 3RD
Travis Barker of Blink 182, Plus 44, The Transplants and countless hip hop remixes, has announced plans to release his solo album in June. He mentioned it on his Twitter. First announced last year, the solo album is also expected to include a variety of sounds and genres. He told MTV about the sound late last year: There's some stuff on my record that's not going to have a bunch of guitars, that are just straight-up hip hop records. Everything's going be real different. It's going to be really well-rounded. We got a new Blink song on there, I think I'm going to do something with Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Hopefully a guest appearance from Slash, I'm doing his big fundraiser that happens this month. I think there's going to be a collaboration with [Kanye West's touring DJ] A-Track, so it's gonna be really in all directions.
BLINK 182 - GOING AWAY TO COLLEGE SMASHING PUMPKINS - TODAY Billy Corgan’s Smashing Pumpkins have unveiled “A Stitch in Time,” the third track from the mammoth 44-song project Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, on Soundcloud and the band’s official Website, where the song — like its Teargarden predecessors — is available as a free download. While Corgan’s previous Teargarden tracks were seemingly Zeppelin-inspired — from the Zoso epic rock of “A Song for a Son” to the Houses of the Holy-flavored “Widow Wake My Mind” — “A Stitch in Time” is as psychedelic as the album’s title itself, a stoned minstrel folk track that sounds like Corgan filled out his new Pumpkins with hired guns from the Elephant 6 collective. --------------------------BREAK-------------------------- Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello co-wrote and co-produced the Cypress Hill title track “Rise Up.”, and the respective artists’ hard driving sound are a perfect match. Plus, Morello is no stranger to rap outside the RATM family, as he is also part of the rap/rock group Street Sweeper Social Club. The album, which also features a guest appearance from Linkin Park singer Mike Shinoda, comes out April 6th. (Sen Dog explains how Cypress Hill ended up collaborating with Tom Morello on the song "Rise Up.") RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - RENEGADES OF FUNK SOUNDGARDEN - SPOONMAN A limited edition, orange vinyl 7” re-issue of Soundgarden’s SubPop debut single “Hunted Down” b/w “Nothing to Say” will be available at select independent record stores on Record Store Day, April 17th. The two-month tour begins in Atlantic City on April 3 and ends in Vancouver, British Columbia on June 3. Joining Nickelback for the extended dates will be Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown and Sick Puppies. Still a couple of holes in the tour that PG would fit into nicely........HOPEFULLY! The band also played the Closing Ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games Sunday night in Vancouver. The band literally lit up the stadium with their electric performance of "Burn It To the Ground," which was viewed by 60,000 in the stadium itself and a global audience that reached into the multi-millions. Of their performance, the band said, "Having the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver has been a great honour for our city and our country. To be included in the Closing Ceremony, with so many talented artists and athletes, is something we will never forget." NICKELBACK - BURN IT TO THE GROUND |
