Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford will appear in an upcoming episode of A&E’s Storage Wars. In the episode, Whitford’s friend wins a storage unit, in which he finds a couple of vintage guitars. To get some expertise and to discuss the guitars’ values, he goes to Brad. Who wouldn’t, if Brad was your pal? Brad sheds light on the worth of the guitars and gives a little history on the vintage pieces. If you didn’t know, Whitford is the great guitarist in Aerosmith who is NOT Joe Perry.
It’s been 20 years since Butch Vig recorded a bunch of Seattle-area upstarts for a genre-defining album called "Nevermind," and drummer Dave Grohl says that with all the success of The Foo Fighters, he’s never felt like he emerged from that Nirvana shadow until now. Grohl tells The Sun, "I’ve tried to establish this band in its own right and try to get out of the shadow of Nirvana, and I do that in the most respectful way. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Nirvana. I owe everything to that band." Grohl says he felt comfortable reuniting with Vig and an invite to Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic was only natural. The bassist appears on the track "I Should Have Known," and Grohl says, "[This is] a Foo Fighters song, not a Nirvana song, but there were moments that really reminded me of 1991." The Foo Fighters’ new album, "Wasting Light," is due April 12th. Listen to the entire album right now on the Matt Porteous Blog at 94xfm.com!
