While it was presumed after the band quietly returned to the studio last year, The Killers have confirmed they will be back this year with their first album in four years. Singer Brandon Flowers told BBC’s Radio 1, “It’s just whether it’s the summertime or wintertime. It’s just exciting getting everyone in the room to make some noise. It’s quite a bit louder than with my solo thing, so I’ve got to get used to that.” The vocalist says the band are attempting to find the best elements of all three past records and hone in on what made them great, while not repeating themselves.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has exhibited further evidence of his heavy metal past, and it doesn’t have anything to do with members of thrash or doom bands like Motorhead, Venom or St. Vitus. Grohl is working with Ratt vocalist Stephen Pearcy and guitarist Warren De Martini on a new project. Pearcy hit up his twitter account to offer a bit of an explanation: “Warren and I are recording an original song thats Not for a Ratt record. We’ll let [Dave] tell you about it when he’s ready.” Pearcy also tweeted a photo of him and De Martini with Grohl. Dave is the Master of the Supergroup so we might as well get excited about this upcoming release!!!

Saliva have a new frontman. If you didn’t know they had lost their old one, don’t feel bad — we didn’t get the memo either. According to Loudwire, Josey Scott quietly left the band to pursue a career in Christian rock back in November — a move that left the remaining members of the band unsure of their future. Now it appears that they will continue as they have announced the addition of Burn Season drummer and Bobby Amaru — who is also a singer/songwriter and producer. The band already has three demos with Amaru and plan to shop them around to labels soon. Josey Scott was one of the founding members of Saliva and has been the vocalist on all seven of the band’s albums, most recently 2011′s ‘Under Your Skin’ — his only writing contribution on the album was co-penning the track ‘Badass.’
