GOO GOO DOLLS - LONG WAY DOWN
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - SEX TYPE THING

Stone Temple Pilots are mulling over what to do for the 20th anniversary of their breakout album, “Core.” Guitarist Dean DeLeo says that while no official plans have been made, he has an idea of what he would like to do. He tells RollingStone.com, “What I’d like to see happen is the band go out and do more intimate shows – really lovely theaters around the country. Smaller shows, doing the first album in its entirety and then maybe take requests.” DeLeo also reveals that there are plenty of live recordings and outtakes from studio sessions that could be included on the deluxe reissue. Stay tuned to see how the band revisits the disc next year.

-----------------------BREAK--------------------

Remember the spine-tingling thrill of hearing Darkness singer Justin Hawkins unleash his falsetto for the first time on the band’s big hit ‘I Believe in a Thing Called Love’? It seems like so long ago, for us and for the band, and for good reason: in the eight years since, they’ve been through an underwhelming second album, personnel shifts, drug problems, and a breakup. But the original lineup is back together now, and they’re capping a series of 2011 reunion gigs with big plans for next year — including a new album and their first North American tour since 2004. The group’s North American run kicks off Feb. 1 in Toronto and will extend through a Feb. 21 show in San Francisco. Tickets go on sale this week, and if you’re a Facebook fan of the band, you’ll have an early shot at snapping up seats before the rest of the world. Audiences can expect to hear a blend of older songs and tracks from the new Darkness album, scheduled for a spring release. No Vencouver dates yet, but more are expected next month!

THE DARKNESS - I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE
BLACK KEYS - LONELY BOY

Continuing their path towards year-end musical domination, The Black Keys performed two songs on Saturday Night Live last night. This marks the band’s second appearance on the show in under a year, now time promoting the release of the fantastic El Camino. Unlike the last time around, SNL’s sound guy actually did an ok job, even if the mix still sounded less-than-optimal, slightly favoring the bass over Dan Auerbach’s guitar in the mix for Lonely Boy. But still, it’s well damn worth watching – the two songs performed can be found below:

-------------------------BREAK--------------------------

Guns N' Roses have expanded their North America tour plans once again. This time added a new date in Vegas. The band is set to ring in the New Year at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel on December 31st but Vegas fans that weren't able to score tickets to the show at the intimate venue are in luck. The band has added a second show at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel that will take place the day before the New Year's Eve show. It'd be a REAL news story if it were the original lineup getting together for this show. Lets go back to a simpler time!
