VH1 Classic will broadcast the 3rd annual Golden Gods Awards on Saturday, May 28 at 10PM,* including a performance by the original Alice Cooper Group and some all-star jams. The awards show will be hosted by Chris Jericho, a former WWE World Champion, current lead singer for the band Fozzy, and best known for his recent stint on the hit show, "Dancing With the Stars." Highlights of the evening include a performance of "School's Out" by Alice Cooper with the original Alice Cooper Group, who also takes home the coveted Golden God Award, presented by his shock rocker friend, Rob Zombie.

Slash's love of animals goes far beyond his well-publicized fascination with snakes: he's in it for the long haul. And, he's being recognized for his efforts. The Los Angeles Times reports the rock icon is set to receive a leadership award from the Greater Los Angeles Zoo Assn. at its 41st Annual Beastly Ball on June 18 at the L.A. Zoo. Slash will be given the inaugural Tom F. Mankiewicz Leadership Award, which recognizes his longtime contributions to establishing environmental welfare programs; he's also a trustee on GLAZA's board and has supported the L.A. Zoo and zoos around the world.

IRON MAIDEN - THE TROOPER

We have received word from a credible source that Iron Maiden is in talks for a North American tour in the spring of 2012. Rumor has it this will be a full scale tour playing to many cities in the USA and Canada. The band is also rumored to be touring for a upcoming re-release of their Maiden England video. On September 5, 2007, it was announced through the official Iron Maiden website, that there would be a DVD-version of the concert, to be released in 2008. As of 2010 it has not been released and there has been no further official announcement concerning a DVD-version of Maiden England.
