94XPOSED THURSDAY OCTOBER 7TH
On June 12th, 2008, on the eve of their headlining performance at the Bonnaroo Music Fesival, multi-platinum rock band Metallica played an intimate, surprise performance at The Basement, an 150-capacity venue below Nashville record store Grimey's New & Preloved Music. In attendance were ecstatic Metclub fan club members, Grimey's staffers, a few lucky friends, and members of local law enforcement agencies! Now the explosive energy of that hot and sweaty, packed-to-the-rafters show has been captured on the recording Live at Grimey's, which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on the day after Thanksgiving, November 26th. Live at Grimey's, which includes such highlights as "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," a blistering "Master of Puppets," and "For Whom the Bell Tolls," will be released on standard CD plus as a limited-edition two-disc set on regular-weight 10" vinyl with a gatefold jacket. WEEZER - MEMORIES
Weezer have responded to an online campaign to stop them from releasing another album, insisting they'll retire if anti-fans come up with $20 million. James Burns wants to silence the band by paying them off and he's embarked on a bid to raise $10 million to split the group. Burns claims the Buddy Holly rockers have failed to live up to their 1996 album Pinkerton and he's taking his crusade online to find followers around the world. The band is taking the campaign in its stride - with drummer Patrick Wilson joking they'll consider an inflated offer. In a post on Twitter.com, he writes: "If they can make it 20 (million), we'll do the deluxe breakup."

Some of Alice Cooper’s friends have been praising the newly nominated Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee, in statements made available by Cooper’s representatives. Slash summed up Cooper’s influence this way: “Alice Cooper was the first ever to marry rock ’n’ roll with dramatic horror theatrics. For 40 years he’s made fantastic records and equally fantastic live performances. And still to this day he’s the best at his craft bar none. Often imitated but never duplicated.” Mike Myers, who in the guise of Wayne Campbell famously attended a Cooper concert in the “Wayne’s World” movie, had this to say: “Historians may say of Alice Cooper that his theatrical, teenage angst anthems are the connective tissue between The Beatles and punk rock. I would simply say ‘I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!’” The Inductees will be announced in March and you would think that Alice would be a lock!

AC/DC - ROCK N' ROLL AIN'T NOISE POLLUTION
AC/DC have beaten NIRVANA, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS and THE BEATLES in an online poll to find the best acts of all time. The Aussie rockers were voted the world's greatest band in the MySpace survey ahead of other legends like QUEEN, U2 and COLDPLAY. MICHAEL JACKSON's 'Thriller' was voted the greatest video while AC/DC came third with 'It's A Long Way To The Top (If Ya Wanna Rock And Roll'). Check out Myspace news for all the details! It should be noted that the shortlist of artists for this poll were put together by a group of Aussie Rock Journalists, so their decisions may be biased!
