94XPOSED MONDAY NOVEMBER 7TH
Tommy Thayer – The KISS guitarist is 51.
KISS - LOVE GUN As I told you last week, Black Sabbath have organized a press conference for Friday, November 11. All four original members of the band – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will be in attendance at the announcement, to be held at the Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, according to NME. The date is not an accident. November 11 isn't just "National Metal Day" (11-11-11), it's also an important anniversary for Sabbath. The date marks the legends' first U.S. show, which took place November 11, 1970 at – wait for it – the Whisky A Go-Go. Henry Rollins will host the event, during which the band members are expected to announce a reunion tour and, possibly, a new album. ------------------------BREAK---------------------- Ed O'Brien, guitarist for alternative rock outfit Radiohead, has put one of his prized guitars up for auction to benefit charity. The guitar was used on the recordings of Radiohead's popular Kid A and Amnesiac albums, and 100% of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Billie Butterfly Fund to help raise funds for four-year-old Billie Bainbridge who has a rare, fatal brain tumor. The crusade is raising money to treat Bainbridge's tumor with an operation in Texas, since the procedure is not available in the U.K. Bid on the Guitar on ebay! You can also check out the website for the Billie Butterfly fund website.
RADIOHEAD - HIGH AND DRY Creed will pay homage to its debut album with a series of special shows in April -- and throw in its follow-up for good measure. The group will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its six-times-platinum "My Own Prison" by performing six shows in three cities -- April 13-14 at the Chicago Theatre, April 16-17 at Philadelphia's Tower Theatre and April 19-20 at the Beacon Theatre in New York. The first night in each town will feature "My Own Prison" in its entirety along with selections from Creed's other three albums, while the second show will showcase 1999's 11-times platinum "Human Clay" from front-to-back, along with additional songs. In a recent interview, lead singer Scott Stapp revealed that Creed will be around for quite awhile as he and the band have more than 3 albums of material ready to go! The next release is expected late in December or early in January! --------------------------BREAK------------------------ 2002 - Twelve Guns N' Roses fans were arrested during a riot after a gig in Vancouver was cancelled.
