1992 – Metallica’s James Hetfield was injured by a stage explosion during a show in Montreal. Headliners Guns N’ Roses then cut their set short after Axl Rose complained of a sore throat. Fans then started a riot. This begun the 2 decade quarel between James Hetfield and Axl Rose!
METALLICA - FUEL The Darkness are starting their reunion on the road, but behind the scenes work has started on a new album. Singer Justin Hawkins tells Music Radar, “Home is where the heart is. When you write songs, you need a grounding to set the stories in. There’s a lot about small-town life. The album has songs about stuff that’s happened to us in the town.” The vocalist says even though they are starting fresh, the classic rock influences are still present. He reveals, “It’s AC/DC, Queen, Aerosmith, et cetera.” The Darkness split in 2006, first with Hawkins and leaving and the remaining band members attempting to continue on. But the band reunited earlier this year to play the Download Festival. --------------------------BREAK----------------------------- AC/DC lead singer and budding race car driver, Brian Johnson, will co-drive in the 50th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. FoxSports reports the racing series' official website Grand-Am.com says the 63-year-old plans to drive for Predator Performance in a Riley prototype car. Johnson will co-drive with Chattanooga businessman Byron DeFoor, who owns and races numerous high-horsepower Can-Am and BMW GT cars; they will be joined by two to three professionals at the Rolex 24.
AC/DC - BACK IN BLACK Green Day have been voted the best punk band of all time, ahead of genre stalwarts like the Clash, the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. But Rolling Stone, who ran the poll, admit the result was almost certainly skewed because the US three-piece's official website and leading fan club site both asked people to vote for the act.
