94XPOSED FRIDAY OCTOBER 8TH
On this day in 1988, Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon finally left Billboard's Hot 200 Album Chart after a record-breaking 741 weeks. Gibson takes a look back: It's a record that has never been duplicated. It's a feat that rock and roll will never see again. Pink Floyd not only unleashed a rock classic when they put out The Dark Side of the Moon in 1973, they created a monster. While it would only hold the #1 spot for a week, it would go on to become one of the biggest selling albums in music history, remaining on the Billboard 200 chart for the next 15 years. After a record-shattering 741 straight weeks on the chart, Dark Side fell off of the Top 200 on this day in 1988, concluding an amazing run that made the members of Pink Floyd extremely wealthy.

The letter is undated, but it is presumed it was written in 1993, which was the same year Cobain and Nirvana appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards and let loose with their feelings about the network.

Ozzy Osbourne has blasted religious leaders in Kansas for using the lyrics to his song "Crazy Train" to promote messages of hate and evil. The rocker was appalled when he learned that members of the Westboro Baptist Church had paraphrased lyrics from the song at a post-Supreme Court hearing press conference in Washington, D.C. - after telling reporters the U.S. deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are "punishment for America's tolerance of homosexuality and abortion". He says, "I am sickened and disgusted by the use of Crazy Train to promote messages of hate and evil by a church." "Crazy Train" is 1980 song written by Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley for Osbourne's debut album "Blizzard of Ozz". It has been covered by many musicians including Bullet for My Valentine, Slipknot and Korn.

The good thing about seeing your star rise is connecting with rock legends, and that’s something that recently happened for Kings Of Leon drummer Nathan Followill. The musician tells Uncut magazine that he had a memorable meeting with Bruce Springsteen at a recent show in New Jersey and The Boss left him with some words of wisdom he’ll always take to heart. Followill recalls, "He said…’Man you guys, I’m so proud you all are doing good. You seem like level-headed guys. Keep your heads on straight. And never forget who you are. For two-and-a-half-hours every night I’m The Boss. The other 21 and a half, my wife is the boss. Never forget who you are.’" Followill says that he’s happy to be a "King" onstage, but realizes it’s a job and he’s just a normal guy the rest of the time.
