94XPOSED TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9TH

A star for former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday evening during a whimsical ceremony that also marked the 50th anniversary of the sidewalk attraction's groundbreaking. Starr's name was the 2,401st to be unveiled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame also includes individual stars for the drummer's former bandmates John Lennon and George Harrison, as well as the likes of musicians Roy Orbison and Ozzy Osbourne. Those by Starr's side for the unveiling included actress-wife Barbara Bach, musicians Joe Walsh and Ben Harper, producer Don Was, director David Lynch and actor Noah Wyle. The Hollywood Walk of Fame attracts an estimated 10 million visitors annually to the 18-block stretch lining Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.

AEROSMITH - EAT THE RICH

Joe Perry has told Classic Rock that one name Aerosmith might consider as a stand-in for Steven Tyler is… Tom Jones! Says Perry: "He’s got a great set of pipes, so why not? I’ve played with him before, and know he could bring something extra to the band. We haven’t approached him yet, but if he were interested that would be great. Imagine the interest Tom would generate." Perry now insists that, whoever the band bring in, this will be on a temporary basis, while Tyler pursues other activities. But, as soon as Tyler’s ready to return it will be business as usual for Aerosmith.

Max Yasgur
December 15, 1919 – February 9, 1973

Max Yasgur was just your average dairy farmer in upstate New York who unwittingly became a pop culture icon after he offered up his farm for a music festival that would become known as Woodstock. An unlikely supporter of "hippies" and their music, it has been reported that Yasgur leased the farmland to event organizers after a bad year for hay production. His apparent fee of $50,000 would help him purchase hay for his cows in the coming year. In the end, Yasgur, a staunch Republican who supported the Vietnam War, was a perfect host to his thousands of counter-culture guests, even providing free food and water to many. Yasgur sold the farm and moved to Florida in 1971 – likely due to the fact that many locals turned against him for hosting the festival. On February 9, 1973, Max Yasgur died of a heart attack at the age of 53.
