2006 – The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Stadium Arcadium,” and Snow Patrol’s “Eyes Open” all hit stores. We just received an update from the Chili Peppers recording sessions, and according to Anthony Kiedis, the album will be released this summer followed by a full on world tour! RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - TELL ME BABY For the second time in as many months, Flying Lotus convinced Radiohead’s Thom Yorke to perform a surprise DJ set at the Low End Theory in Los Angeles, CA. According to multiple Twitter reports, Yorke played a set that mixed “Radiohead remixes from another dimension” and Odd Future. This may become a new favorite past time for Thom who has become one of the most sought after DJ in LA with 12 other clubs sending him invites to come and rock their dance floor from the turntable! ------------------BREAK---------------------- R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe has revealed how he tried in vain to offer a helping hand to Kurt Cobain during the Nirvana main man’s struggle with heroin addiction only to be rebuffed by the tragic star who took his own life in 1994. Stipe says he grew close to Cobain, his wife Courtney Love and their young daughter and even attempted to convince him to work with R.E.M. on a collaboration he admits was a ruse to help his friend. “I knew him and his daughter. And Courtney came and stayed at my house. R.E.M. worked on two records in Seattle and Peter Buck lived next door to Kurt and Courtney. So we all knew each other. I reached out to him with that project as an attempt to prevent what was going to happen." Stipe says he still struggles with the thought that he could have saved Kurt. "I still have trouble—I can’t listen to an entire Nirvana record.” He said.
