Cliff Burton – The late Metallica bassist would have been 49. Cliff Burton played a huge part in the success of For Whom The Bell Tolls, which was one of the biggest selling singles off of "Ride The Lightening". Most people think that the intro to this song is done with an electric guitar, but its actually Cliff Burton playing his Bass through distortion and a wah wah. RIP CLIFF!

ROB ZOMBIE - FEEL SO NUMB

2010 was a rocking year for Rob Zombie, but it looks as though the multi-talented musician will be back behind the lens in 2011. Alliance Films will reportedly start shooting The Lords Of Salem with Zombie as director this spring. Zombie also penned the script, which centers on modern day Salem being besieged by a 300-year-old coven of witches.

Former AC/DC lead singer Bon Scott had a music career before joining Australia’s hardest-rocking band, and now you’ll be able to hear some of those rare recordings. Due for release on February 22, Bon Scott's "Round And Round" is based around the three-track "Round And Round" single that Scott recorded with Peter Cross of the Mount Lofty Rangers in 1973. Producer Ted Yanni has devoted two years to bringing Scott back to life, assisted by many like-minded friends, musicians and technicians. The collection also features material from Scott's pre-AC/DC band Fraternity. Although his career was short, Bon Scott remains as one of the best voices that rock has ever put forward. RIP BON SCOTT!

The social networking boom and its widespread effects are impressing Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien. In a recent posting, O’Brien praised Twitter and Facebook for adding pressure and shining a spotlight on wrongs around the world. He explained, "It’s in the arena of public protest that it seems Twitter and Facebook are increasingly the means by which popular movements throughout the world are able to come together and mobilize. I have been so moved by the peaceful Jasmine revolution in Tunisia, the anti-government demonstrations centered on Tahir Square in Cairo. Social networking has helped facilitate the freedom to assemble peacefully and express oneself."
