OZZY - LET IT DIE

"God Bless Ozzy Osbourne." That’s the new title of the upcoming documentary on Ozzy’s life. Last month, Ozzy’s son Jack Osbourne, who financed the film with mother Sharon, was interviewed about the project, then known as "Wreckage Of My Past: The Ozzy Osbourne Story." At the time, Jack told Artisan News Service that the documentary had completed filming and was in post-production. At last report, the film was being shopped to film festivals, and expected in theatres this year. Check out the original trailer that was released last year.

The will he, won’t he, saga linking Corey Taylor to the Velvet Revolver job shows no sign of abating after the band’s bassist Duff McKagan dubbed Taylor ‘one of the best front men ever’. In a chat on Wednesday, February 9, on ESPN.com, McKagan was asked what the most important attribute is that a lead singer should have besides a great voice. He replied: "Any good artist has to have the ability to tap the dark stuff and have it be real. Great lead singers have the ability to tap that. No inhibitions help as well. "Axl (Rose) and Scott (Weiland) are two of the best front men ever. Corey Taylor is one of those guys as well. He can tap it." McKagan was later asked specifically about the rumours that Taylor was set to join Velvet Revolver and said: "I can neither confirm nor deny. He is a bad dude though. I like him as a human being and a singer. He is the voice of a whole new generation."

VELVET REVOLVER - SLITHER
METALLICA - FUEL

On the heels of the announcement about the Big 4 Festival with Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, it looks like Metallica may also have some new music coming sooner than fans may think. The group is actually planning to hit the studio in May to work on a secret two-week project. "We want to record it in two weeks," guitarist Kirk Hammett told Rolling Stone. "We had planned on doing it in March, but we pushed it back to May. I don't want to give too much away, but it's not really 100 percent a Metallica record. It's a recording project, let's put it that way. Without getting too deep into it, it's more a recording project than a bona fide Metallica album. Whether or not we can pull it off in just two weeks remains to be seen." Sounds like a collaboration effort......Could it be a disc with members of the Big 4 performing all 4 bands biggest songs? Man, I hope so!
