On this date in 1973 – After seeing KISS play at a New York hotel, producer Bill Aucion offered to become their manager and promised a record deal. Exactly 26 years later on August 11th, 1999 – KISS received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sounds like Bill may have been on to something!

The NFL announced that Taylor Swift and Dave Matthews Band will perform in New Orleans at the 2010 season's NFL Kickoff concert. The artists will play before the New Orleans Saints/Minnesota Vikings game on September 9. The concert will air on NBC and the NFL Network as part of the pregame show.

Jimmy Eat World's new single, "My Best Theory," has arrived at radio and is also available now via iTunes. The band has announced a pair of headlining dates in their home state of Arizona as part of their fall tour. Jimmy Eat World will play Tucson on September 27 and Phoenix on October 30. Their new album, Invented, is due September 28.
