Zack de la Rocha – The Rage Against The Machine and One Day As A Lion frontman is 42.
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - RENEGADES OF FUNK Eddie Van Halen is showing his respect for music education programs by donating 75 electric guitars from his personal collection to the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation. Per the guitarist’s request, the instruments will be distributed to music programs in public schools in the Los Angeles area. “Music is the universal language,” says the guitar great. “It has the ability to transcend and convey every human emotion that exists without saying a word. Music has kept me off the streets and out of trouble and gave me something that was mine that no one could take away from me. Music education and families are deaily with the economic times, and I wanted to help them. If I can help a kid discover a liking, or even a passion for music in their life, then that’s a wonderful thing.” -------------------------BREAK-------------------- Nearly two decades after forming Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl continues to view the group as “a really simple band.” In a wide-ranging interview with Billboard.com, the Foos frontman said, “We [still] think we suck and we try really hard to make good records and we practice. We don’t feel like the biggest, best band in the world. We just feel like the same five dorks that were touring in a van 17 years ago.” Maybe thats why thew band is so damn good! They don't believe their own hype and their main goal every night is to be better than the last night! The boys are currently on tour supporting their chart topping garage made album, Wasting Light!
FOO FIGHTERS - WALK The Motley Crue residency in Las Vegas next month will take the band to new heights. Bassist Nikki Sixx says in a posting, “We’ve been ironing out all the production details for the shows in Vegas at The Joint at the Hard Rock. This is the biggest production Motley Crue has ever done to date and everybody creatively is shooting for the moon. We can’t wait to see the look on your faces when we unveil this monster to you guys in February.” The band will play three weeks with four shows a week that run February 3rd-19th at The Joint. Sixx adds, “Just to clarify…It IS NOT just a rock show, it’s an EXTRAVAGANZA. Can you guess what that might mean?” Get your tickets now to find out. ----------------------BREAK------------------------ Rob Zombie – The singer-turned-director (Halloween, House Of 1000 Corpses) is 47.
