BLINK 182 - GOING AWAY TO COLLEGE

Blink 182 revealed release plans and hinted at the title of their next album. Guitarist/co-vocalist Tom Delonge sais this: “We'll release a bunch of music before the tour and we'll be dropping the album smack bang in the middle of the tour, sometime in September. The name I want really bad I saw on a adult film list at a hotel. Not that I watch them, or have the audacity to read the titles. But I did.” The interview also notes that the Blinkumentary, a documentary in the works for the past few years, will be released this fall as well.

DISTURBED - ANOTHER WAY TO DIE

Disturbed frontman David Draiman says the band will take a break after completing their current run of tour dates. “We’re touring the States then a short South American run, but that’s it after that,” he states. They aim to use the downtime to write material for their sixth album. Draiman explains: “We’ve not done anything yet. I know Dan Donegan has some riffs but we need to get in the right headspace and we can’t do that while we’re on the road.”

Rage Against The Machine are heading up the L.A. Rising festival and make no mistake, even though there are other big time acts on the bill, this is very much their festival.  Guitarist Tom Morello tells Billboard.com, “This is a festival that is run by Rage Against The Machine, and it’s going to reflect that.  Normally there’s this kind of rag-tag of hemp booths and Patchouli distributors that sort of circle a festival.  This is going to be nothing like that.  There are going to be our causes and activist organizations and charities that we endorse, presented in a different way.”  Morello says the festival is very L.A.-centric and reflects the diversity of the city and every act on the bill will play their full sets.  The event, which also features Muse, Rise Against, Lauryn Hill, Immortal Technique, and El Gran Silencio, takes place July 30th at the Los Angeles Coliseum.
