Nickelback continues to sell a lot of records. In fact, Billboard revealed that the band’s "Dark Horse" album was the top-selling hard rock album of 2010. Rise Against have updated their Twitter with an update on the progress towards their new album. The band has finished work on instrumental recording and are now finalizing vocals and backing vocals. The band is currently at The Blasting Room working on their next album, expected in 2011 and following up Appeal to Reason. The new album comes after the longest gap in the band's history, having released new albums every two years (or less) since 2001. They are headed to South America in February and March 2011.

Rock still rules the live concert industry, as Bon Jovi, U2 and AC/DC landed in the top three spots on Billboard's Top 25 Tours of 2010. Bon Jovi grossed $146.5 million through 69 sold-out shows, playing to 1.5 million fans. U2 were a close second, with $131.5 million over just 22 sold-out shows before 1.3 million fans. Hard Rock kings AC/DC landed in third place with $122.6 million over 28 shows (including 19 sell-outs) before 1.1 million fans. Other Notable entries:
