94XPOSED FEBRUARY 14TH

The Grammy Awards certainly shook things up in unexpected ways this year, considering that Eminem, who was up for a leading 10 awards, went home with only two, and Lady Antebellum cleaned up by winning five trophies. The Country group was the biggest winner of the night, counting amongst their haul the coveted Song of the Year and Record of the Year honors for the track "Need You Now." Canadian Indie rockers Arcade Fire also seemed stunned to win the night's highest prize - Album of the Year - for The Suburbs, beating out Eminem's Recovery. It was good to see Iron Maiden FINALLY get some recognition too! Iron Maiden's "The Final Frontier" took home the Best Metal Performance Grammy (not aired, despite the fact that metal outsells Rap and R&B).

You had to know this was going to happen. For over a year, there's been much speculation about whether Radiohead's new album was done and how they'd release it. The band have also been pretty hush-hush when talking about it, saying as little as possible about what form it would take and when it would be available. Those questions have all just been answered. Radiohead have just announced that their new album is called The King Of Limbs. It's available by presale through their website now digitally and as a "newspaper album." The digital album will cost you nine bucks for MP3 files, or $14 for WAV files. Meanwhile, the newspaper album — it's the "world's first," apparently — comes with two 10-inch clear vinyl records in a special sleeve; a CD; large pieces of artwork, 625 small bits of art and oxo-degradable plastic to contain everything; and a digital download that will be available as of Saturday. One person will also get a signed two-track 12-inch vinyl with their copy. Hard copies of The King Of Limbs will be shipped to those who order it for May 9. Congratulations, Radiohead — you just officially upstaged the Grammys. The album takes its name from a 1,000-year-old tree in Wiltshire, England's Savernake Forest. That forest is found near Tottenham House, which is where part of 2007's In Rainbows was recorded.

HAIL THE VILLAIN - RUNAWAY
Juno-nominated hard rock outfit Hail The Villain have regrettably cancelled their upcoming tour because of singer Bryan Crouch's health. Crouch, who is known for his aggressive, gritty voice, was recently diagnosed with a polyp on his vocal cords and will soon have surgery to remove it. The singer took to the band's Myspace page to break the bad news and apologize for disappointing their loyal legion of fans. It's too soon to say whether Crouch will be well enough to join the rest of the group at this year's Juno Awards. The Oshawa, Ont. natives have been nominated for rock album of the year for their debut Population: Declining debut album. The Juno Awards take place March 27 at Toronto's Air Canada Centre.
