ARCADE FIRE - REBELLION (LIES)
WOLFMOTHER - COSMIC EGG Wolfmother are enjoying a second life after singer Andrew Stockdale restocked the group following the exits of Myles Heskett and Chris Ross. The vocalist says his vision has remained intact even though the players have changed. He tells us, “When I have a drumbeat that I really like and it’s kind of a major part of the song, I like it to be that part, but then sometimes the player can come in and give it some life and vitality which is great.” Stockdale says his current lineup walks that fine line of keeping the initial expression in mind while bringing the necessary energy to make it their own. The band are currently promoting “Far Away,” the third single from the “Cosmic Egg” album.
----------------------BREAK-------------------------- These are busy times for the Deftones. There’s a lot of positive buzz about their “Diamond Eyes” album, and the group are moving forward the release of the disc after a recent leak. The set now arrives May 4th instead of May 18th. In other news, the group have completed the video for the album’s title track. The primarily performance piece was shot by Roboshobo and can be seen at: vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=104264416. And there’s one more piece of Deftones news, as the group’s first single, “Rocket Skates,” will be available at participating Record Store Day stores this Saturday (Apr. 17) as a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single with a picture sleeve that supports national “Record Store Day.” DEFTONES - DIAMOND EYES RACONTEURS - SALUTE YOUR SOLUTION The Raconteurs are joining the Record Store Day festivities, but billed as The Racontwoers. Singer/guitarist Brendan Benson and drummer Patrick Keeler will perform together at Jack White’s Third Man Records store in Nashville this Saturday, playing songs from the group’s “Broken Boy Soldiers” debut disc, which is being re-released. Third Man will sell 300 copper-colored limited edition versions of their debut, and those attending the store on Record Store Day will also be able to get black-and-blue vinyl versions of the day’s performance. In addition, the Third Man store will give those who purchase something on Record Store Day a chance to win one of three Go Karts from the “Steady As She Goes” video.
