Jimmy Eat World announced today via their rather prolific twitter account that their recently completed new album will be titled Invented and is due out September 28, 2010. Once out, Invented will follow up 2007's Chase This Light, released through Interscope. After utilizing Butch Vig as producer for Chase This Light and Gil Norton for 2004's Futures, the band reunited with Mark Trombino for Invented. Trombino worked with the band on 2001's Bleed American and the 2005 EP, Stay on My Side Tonight, and of course, 1999's Clarity and 1996's Static Prevails.

Metallica done with the Death Magnetic Tour! This posting was up on Metallica's website today...... "Dear Friends: We are so psyched to add a second show in Christchurch, New Zealand at CBS Canterbury Arena on September 21...thanks again for demanding that we visit you there!! Now to the real reason we're here taking up space on this site...we also want to announce that all of our play dates have now filled up with the addition of this show...that's right boys and girls, this will be the last date added to the World Magnetic Tour! So if you're waiting for us to come to the Polar Ice Caps, your undiscovered planet or even your basement, sorry, this is as good at it gets. It has been a very long, and most amazing run. The number of shows played depends on when you start counting. We are gonna go with what the boys in the band say, 'cuz they have been out on the road more or less continuously since May of 2008 and that brings us up to a total of 212 shows in 153 cities." The boys go on to thank everyone for their support but they do not hint that they are working on new material. Will we have to wait another 4 years for new Metallica? Possibly.

Brand New rock on the X! Yesterday we added the highly anticipated first single, from the forthcoming album Audio Secrecy from Stone Sour which hits stores on September 7th. Stone Sour LOVES Canada as we were the first country to deliver the band a #1 rock radio single with "Through Glass" and we were also the first country to hand them a GOLD record for their album "Come Whatever May". We are looking forward to hearing the new offering from the band that spawned Slipknot in early September!

Gar Samuelson
February 18, 1958 – July 14, 1999

Gar Samuelson was the original drummer for thrash metal band, Megadeth. Prior to joining Megadeth, Samuelson played in a jazz fusion band with future Megadeth guitarist, Chris Poland. But metal was Samuelson’s calling, and once he met Megadeth leader, Dave Mustaine, his mind was made up, he had to be in that band. Samuelson played on just two Megadeth albums, Killing Is My Business…And Business Is Good, and the classic, Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying? and toured with the band during those years. But heavy drug abuse, specifically heroin, led to his firing by the band in 1987. During the mid ’90s, Samuelson was playing alongside his brother in a thrash metal band called Fatal Opera which released two albums. The last years of his life found him in Orange City, Florida where he built and ran a recording studio. Gar Samuelson died on July 14, 1999 of liver failure at the age of 41.
