94XPOSED WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH

Good news from Twitter this morning! Finger 11 posted an update that said “Packed in the van, heading up North to make some new Finger sounds.” So it looks like we could have a new album as early as Spring of 2012!

FINGER 11 - PARALYZER
AEROSMITH - DREAM ON

Rocker Steven Tyler is in mourning after his father died on Saturday. The Aerosmith star's dad Victor Tallarico passed away at the Hunt Community assisted living facility in Nashua, New Hampshire, aged 95. The World War II veteran, who was also a musician, was surrounded by family when he died peacefully at the facility. His obituary reads, "Victor was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Susan Ray (Blancha) Tallarico. He leaves a brother, Ernest Tallarico, of Tampa, Florida, two children, Steven and Lynda; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many friends. "Among Victor's proudest accomplishments were his offspring: Lynda, a retired teacher who resides in southern Vermont, and Steven, who, having been well launched into the music business by Victor, became famous as Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the rock band Aerosmith. Tallarico said he considered his son a “genius,” and said his favorite Aeorsmith song was the 1970 classic 'Dream On'.

Gene Simmons is to host this year’s Classic Rock Roll Of Honour. And the musician to be given the coveted Living Legend award has also been revealed. Who is it? Jeff Beck will follow in the footsteps of such greats as Jimmy Page, Lemmy, Alice Cooper, Iggy Pop and Ozzy Osbourne in being recipient of this honour. Don’t forget you can vote right now in the following categories: Best New Band, Album Of The Year, Reissue Of The Year, Film/DVD Of The Year, Band Of The Year. Band of the year? It has to be the Foo Fighters. No other band has even come close to the straight up, in your face, garage recorded, Rock album that Dave Grohl and his crew released just a few months back. We are going to be rocking out to single after single from that album for the next 2 years!

FOO FIGHTERS - WALK
JUDAS PRIEST - TURBO LOVER

Judas Priest took a novel approach in deciding which songs to include on their forthcoming compilation album, The Chosen Few. Rather than select the tracks themselves, the band solicited some of hard rock and heavy metal's biggest names and had them choose their favorite Priest songs. Among those who participated in the song-selection were Steve Vai, Ozzy Osbourne, Zakk Wylde, Joe Satriani and Slash. The set includes commentary from each artist about the reasons for their choice. The Chosen Few will be released on October 11. The following day (Oct. 12), Judas Priest kicksoff the North American leg of their farewell Epitaph tour.
