DEFAULT - TURN IT ON

Default are happy that "Turn It On" has become their latest single. The high-energy rocker was an immediate favorite that came together quickly for the group in the studio and has been used as their set-opener at shows. Singer Dallas Smith tells us, {CLIP} "Turn It On" can be found on the band’s "Comes And Goes" album.

The Headstones are Back! If you were a fan of mid-'90s Can-rock you probably just peed your pants with excitement about that headline. The Headstones really are back... but for one night only. This may or may not be like that one chance you have to get back with that ex you always loved. It could work and turn into something more (in this case, that's entirely up to the members of the band), or it may just be a one-off and you'll never see each other again. In any case, you've got an opportunity to see all the original members of the Headstones play on Feb. 5 at Toronto's Sound Academy. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 7 a.m. through Live Nation. They'll run you $30, and it's a 19+ show. Headstones formed in 1987 in Kingston, Ont. and recorded five albums before splitting up in 2003.

Trent Reznor has been nominated for a Golden Globe! Nominated for best original score in a motion picture is Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, for his work on the Facebook-inspired film, "The Social Network." Reznor was recognized alongside A. R. Rahman, who is nominated for "127 Hours" and won previously for "Slumdog Millionaire"; Alexander Desplot, for "The King's Speech"; Danny Elfman, for "Alice in Wonderland"; and Hans Zimmer, for "Inception." I rarely watch the Golden Globes, in fact the only time I can remember checking them out was the year that Sacha Baron Cohen won for his portrayal of Borat. THis year I will be tuning into the original Score category, in hopes that Reznor wins and is given the chance to to give a speech. How much you wanna bet he rips into the Music Industry? I've got a $20 bill that says he does!

The Christmas #1 is a big thing in England, and the backlash against the pop singer series The X Factor continues this year. Last year, rock fans rallied Rage Against The Machine’s "Killing In The Name" to #1, and this year the groundswell of support appears to be behind Corey Taylor’s expletive filled holiday track "XM@$." Taylor told The Pulse Of Radio, "I’m actually planning something right now. I have to check the logistics to make sure, but if we get to #1, I’ve got something very special in the works for the fans. It’s going to be unbelievable." Proceeds from sales of Taylor’s song are going to the Teenage Cancer Trust organization. Purchase it on I-tunes and help defeat the evil Simon Cowell!!!
