Wrestler and entertainer-turned-politician Jesse Ventura once worked as a bodyguard to the Rolling Stones and witnessed one of Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards' most embarrassing druggie moments. The former Minnesota Governor led the band's security detail when they came through his home city Minneapolis in 1978 and 1981 and he still chuckles about one on-the-road tale. He tells BlogTalkRadio.com, "Keith and Woody were in the dressing room and their manager burst in and said, 'The police are here.' Keith said, 'Wood and I are flushing everything down the toilet,' and 30 seconds later in walks Stewart Copeland and Sting!'"  But Ventura insists his hero Richards' reputation as a drugged-up rocker is not accurate. He adds, "He's the heart and soul of the Rolling Stones. Everybody assumes he's such a drug burn-out but he's exceptionally smart. He plays a role letting people think, 'Oh, just old numby Keith,' but not at all."

The Metal Den sent over this report about Orphaned To Hatred, who has promoted itself as the second coming of Pantera, has allegedly entered into trademark infringement by trying to use Pantera2.com as their own domain. TMD has tracked down this evidence on file with Godaddy that clearly shows the band's frontman Brandon Ralph McBride and OTH band have recently secured the domain to Pantera2.com, in attempt to promote their band under the likeness of the famed Texas groove metallers. Orphaned To Hatred band also recently loaded a song onto AOL (via YouTube), using the CFH logo (Cowboys From Hell) to promote the band's music. This posting on AOL has since been mysteriously taken down. As we have seen in the past, Vinnie Paul is RUTHLESS when it comes to people trying to steal the name and persona of Pantera. Its one of the last worldly things that he has to remember his brother by, and I for one, Completely understand and support his nastiness towards people that try and destroy Pantera's name.

The Experience Music Project in Seattle will be opening an extensive exhibit of Nirvana memorabilia in April. Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses will contain 200 rare items, including instruments, Kurt Cobain’s handwritten lyrics for Nirvana songs including “Spank Thru” and “Floyd the Barber," the yellow cardigan worn often by Cobain between 1991 and 1994, the reel-to-reel tape machine on which he recorded material for his early bands, and snap shots submitted by the band, their families and former crew members. Fans will have plenty of time to see it, as the exhibit will run from April 16, 2011 to April 22, 2013. Founder/bassist Krist Novoselic said that Kurt Cobain "was a visionary artist who touched people all over the world. It's great that there will soon be a collection that celebrates that contribution to music and culture. There's a story with Nirvana at its center, but it’s a story that also includes the many people, bands and institutions that make up a music community. The show is a celebration of Northwest music."
