2006, Ahmet Ertegun, co-founder of Atlantic Records, died at the age of 83. Ertegun, who founded Atlantic Records with Herb Abramson in 1947, helped make Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin stars and signed The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin in the early ’70s. He suffered a head injury when he fell at a Rolling Stones concert at New York's Beacon Theatre in October, and died after slipping into a coma.

Looks like the rumors were true, as the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Class of 2011 was made public on Tuesday through a number of media outlets, a day ahead of Wednesday morning's official announcement by the Hall. Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love will enter the Hall at the 26th Annual Induction Ceremony on March 14, 2011 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City. "Getting in the Hall of Fame is about the ultimate thing you can do when you're a garage band from Cortez High in Phoenix," Cooper said. "It's the most humbling thing in the world when you realize who else is in there. You look out at the audience, and every guy who influenced you is sitting there, and they are the people who voted on you."

Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER bassist Duff McKagan will undergo surgery on his sinuses. A Twitter update from Duff's wife, Susan, states: "Am thankful and blessed my man is alive today! Kids don't do drugs! Say a prayer for Duff, as he's getting surgery on his sinuses (a hole the size of a quarter from years of abuse)... we must live and learn, how lucky we are for our health and family and friends... Love u Duff." Nose candy kills! Its amazing guys like Duff and Slash are still around to make music today with the abuse they put themselves through in their hey day! Denise Richards just can't stay away from the bad boys. After a tumultuous marriage to Charlie Sheen and a rocky relationship with Richie Sambora, the star, 39, has been quietly dating Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. Richards and Sixx, 52, "have been neighbors for years. They have a lot in common and are taking things slowly," a source close to the pair tells the new Us Weekly. Richards and Sixx, had breakfast at Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas, Calif., on the morning of Dec. 12. "Nikki was telling stories, and Denise was laughing," says a witness. Just the night before (his birthday), Sixx alluded to a special someone on Twitter, typing at 10:35 p.m. that he had "a midnight rendezvous planned with a beautiful maiden." Well at least Nikki is less likely to go insane and lock an escort in the bathroom. Shes moving up in the world!
