Rumor has it Motley Crue could be setting up shop in Las Vegas. Vince Neil pal Robin Leach of the Las Vegas Sun reports the Crue appears set to become the first heavy metal group to sign a short-term residency in Vegas. Leach says he’s hearing that the band will play a nearly month-long series of three- and four-night concerts a week at the Hard Rock Hotel, starting at the end of February.  Leach reports that fans should expect the official announcement on the Vegas deal just before Thanksgiving, as the Crue get set for a UK tour with Def Leppard and Steel Panther in December.

Scenes from the first (and still second best) ‘Star Wars’ movie have been paired with AC/DC‘s ‘Thunderstruck’ in an exciting fan-made mini-movie. It’s not like Darth Vader needed the help of the Australian hard rockers to be scary — he’s big, he wears all black, and even his creepy machine-assisted breathing is intimidating. However, you can’t deny that the efforts of this enterprising YouTuber have added something new to one of the most classic science fiction films of all time. We should have named it "The Empire Strikes Back In Black"!!!

A member of the British Parliament is moving to make guitar god Jimmy Page a knight, according to the NME. Conservative MP Louise Mensch is suggesting knighthood for the Led Zeppelin guitarist, announcing the news on her Twitter page: "I've proposed Jimmy Page. Waiting to see if that finds favour with Honours Directorate. I hope so."

Mensch, who was elected in 2010, has a rock and roll connection. Her husband, Peter Mensch, manages Metallica, Muse and other bands. He formerly managed Page. But, she said that her husband's job has nothing to do with her plans. "Clearly there is nobody more worthy of a knighthood and I am glad to say I have gathered support from every major record label in the U.K.," she wrote.
