As amazing as he hopes 2011 will be for the Foo Fighters, we’re thinking Dave Grohl is arguably just as excited regarding another recent career development: according to NME, the rocker is set to make a cameo in the upcoming Muppets film. This news ain’t half bad! Of course, this news ain’t half good! Hohohohohohoho! The film, which hits theaters November 23, 2011, is being written and will star Jason Segel. Grohl will reportedly take over for Animal on the drums when the legendary monster is sent to anger management (about time; he’s been harassing Beaker for years.) The film will also feature cameos from Ricky Gervais, Jack Black, and Lady Gaga. Stay tuned for more news on the film and other Grohl updates as they’re announced.

Sammy Hagar's autobiography "RED: My Uncensored Life In Rock," is set for release on Saturday, March 12, 2011 through HarperCollins. In the book, Hagar tells the outrageous and unbelievable stories of his rise through rock music, detailing how his voice became recognizable all over the world, starting with his early days with Montrose, to a solo career, and then with Van Halen. Readers can expect behind the scenes stories from Sammy's days with Van Halen, one of the biggest rock groups in history, as Hagar tells of the global stadium tours, private jets, parties, and of course the ups and downs that came with fame and success. Hagar has also announced his first scheduled appearance to promote the launch of the book. On Saturday, March 12, Hagar will be the subject of an exclusive interview at Canadian Music Week - taking place at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto - sharing the stories of his formidable rise through rock music and private enterprise.

Alexisonfire has announced a surprise show set to take place on December 17 at Sonic Boom, an independent record shop in Toronto. Despite the inherit contradiction in announcing a surprise show, the show promises to be a barn burner. Alexisonfire will at the very least be playing their new Dog's Blood EP front-to-back and admission to the show will be dealt with on a first-come-first-serve basis. The 3:00pm show will likely reach capacity very quickly, but those not able to attend will be able to check it out via the band's Facebook page.
