Punk icon Casey Royer has been charged with child endangerment after allegedly overdosing on heroin in front of his son. The former Social Distortion drummer was admitted to hospital in Orange County, California last week after allegedly collapsing while watching TV with his 12-year-old boy. The pre-teen appealed to neighbours for help and the police were called to the scene, which was littered with drug paraphernalia, reports TMZ.com. Royer, 52, was hospitalized, revived by doctors and subsequently arrested. On Monday he was charged with child endangerment and being under the influence of heroin. His former band are currently enjoying the top ten success of their new single Machine Gun Blues.

Guitar great Slash played on despite the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan. The Daily Express reports that Slash canceled shows in Tokyo and Yokahama, but chose to fly to Japan for his scheduled gig in Osaka on March 14. The former Guns N' Roses star thanked his Japanese fans for their support on his Twitter page: "Great gig in Osaka tonight. Great spirits, despite all that has happened... We're positively coming back soon to play Tokyo & Yokohama. In the meantime, lots of love to the Japanese fans. U will make it thru these difficult times."
