94XPOSED WEDNESDAY JANUARY 18TH
Jonathan Davis – The KoRn frontman is 41.
KORN - TWISTED TRANSISTOR This past Sunday night versus the Anaheim Ducks, while he was skating around in warmup, Vancouver Canucks winger Jannik Hansen saw KISS' Gene Simmons sitting by the glass, and he boldly skated over to meet his idol and to get an autograph. What Hansen did was unusual; if a hockey player wants an autograph from a celebrity, it’s normal to do it after the game or get somebody to do it for you. Hansen wasn't going to chance missing out on the legend's visit! After shaking hands and nervously saying hello, Hansen got his autograph and even used that stick in the game! The stick survived all three periods and now has a home on Jannick's mantle! ---------------------------BREAK--------------------------- Sammy Hagar is right where he wants to be with Chickenfoot. The vocalist says the band has been a lot of fun, and the reception to their music by fans and critics alike has been welcome. He tells U.K. blog Cack Blabbath, “I think that considering we’re old guys, old rich successful guys, that people could really ream us for it, and they haven’t. I thought we’d been treated very kindly by the press, and believe me, I’m sitting here saying ‘Amen,’ because Van Halen, we got reamed by the press cause we were so big and then I was replacing Dave [Lee Roth].” Hagar says that by having known players from successful bands work together puts them in a very vulnerable position, but he feels the group have been treated very fairly by media and music fans alike. Here is a brand new single from the band that was just added today!
CHICKENFOOT - DIFFERENT DEVIL Few people really know exactly what Dave Grohl is up to, but his new project is boasting big names. Following news two weeks ago that Ratt’s Stephen Pearcy and Warren De Martini had recorded a song with Grohl, Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour has revealed that he has been working with the Foos man. In a Tweet on January 18, Taylor said: “HUGE checks off the Bucket List today – did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words ‘holy s--t’ say enough about it?!?” It could well be a project about Sound City Studios. In 2011, Grohl said he was working on a film about the Los Angeles studio. “When Sound City closed last year it was a very sad day. That place was like a church. The list of people that recorded there is like a virtual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We recorded Nevermind there back in 1991. That funky old place had the best drum room in the world. The drum sound at the beginning of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit?’ That’s Sound City. I decided to make a film about that feeling when you put five guys in a room, hit ‘record’ and the hair on the back of your neck stands up. Expect some epic jam sessions.” As soon as I hear more about this secretive project, you'll hear it here on the X! ----------------------------BREAK------------------------- “31 years ago Mötley Crüe was born.
