RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - BY THE WAY
Sure we have new Kanye, Radiohead, R.E.M., and Beastie Boys on the way, but let’s not also forget about Red Hot Chili Peppers’ forthcoming album, which is indeed happening. In fact, drummer Chad Smith recently told MusicRadar that "we’re probably halfway through the record." Man, 2011 is going to kick some serious ass. "I think we’ve tracked about 20 songs already, and there’s a few more left to do," Smith explained. "Then we’ll whittle them down to make the best record. We always cut a lot of songs and see which ones rise and which ones fall — that’s just how we like to work. But the new one won’t be a double album like Stadium Arcadium, I can tell you that."

Promoters of last week’s two Guns N’ Roses shows at the O2 Arena in London are bracing themselves for a hefty fine. Because the band overran the 11pm curfew on both night, amounting to a total of three hours – a fine from the local council is almost inevitable. Based on the fact that when Lady GaGa went 25 minutes past the curfew earlier this year, they were fined $649 per minute, this time the fine could reach $116,820.

ALICE IN CHAINS - WOULD
Alice in Chains performed a hometown show in Seattle, Washington over the weekend, and filmed it in 3D for future DVD release. The band powered through a two-hour set which included hits such as "Rooster," "Man in the Box," "Would," "Your Decision," "Last of My Kind," "Rain When I Die," "Rotten Apple," "No Excuses," "Down In A Hole," and "Black Gives Way to Blue." The concert featured new frontman William DuVall replacing original singer Layne Staley, who died from a drug overdose in 2002. The band is currently touring as part of the "BlackDiamondSkye" tour with Deftones and Mastodon. They are supporting their first new release in 14 years, 2009's Black Gives Way To Blue.
