AIRBOURNE - STAND UP FOR ROCK N' ROLL
OZZY OSBOURNE - PERRY MASON

Ozzy Osbourne was stunned when Sir Paul McCartney refused to collaborate with him - because the former Beatle insisted he didn't want to spoil the rocker's record. The Black Sabbath frontman used a chance meeting with the veteran star to ask whether he would like to make some music together. And Osbourne was shocked when McCartney declined, because the Yesterday hitmaker didn't feel he could improve Osbourne's song. Osbourne tells British magazine Heat, "Meeting Paul McCartney was f**king phenomenal. I was in the studio at the same time as him, and tried to get him to play bass on one of my songs. But he said he couldn't improve on the bass-line that was there. I said, 'Are you kidding? You could p**s on the record and I'd make it my life."

ROCK BIRTHDAY ALERT!
November 18, 1962, Kirk Hammett (Metallica) (47)
In slightly metallica related news, Slipknot/Stone Sour singer Corey Taylor married girlfriend Stephanie Luby at the Las Vegas Palms Hotel over the weekend, where the wedding party walked down the aisle to Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls." The 350 guests included Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, as well as Camp Freddy's Dave Navarro and Billy Morrison, who acted as the minister. People.com reports that the rockers all took the stage and performed at the wedding, with Taylor joining in on three songs. So happy birthday to Kirk, and Congrats to Corey Taylor on the wedding!

MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - TEENAGERS

My Chemical Romance is wrapping up their fourth studio album, due out in the spring. Speaking to Rolling Stone, singer Gerard Way says he wanted to "harness everything that’s great about this band into shorter songs. Almost protopunk, like the Stooges or the MC5." He adds that the new material made them sound like "an American rock band instead of a British rock band." The new album is still untitled. They messed around with the protopunk sound last album on a track called Teenagers.
