Alexisonfire have an early Christmas present for their fans worldwide. The band plan on releasing a digital bundle featuring two cover songs they recorded recently – Midnight Oil’s "The Dead Heart" and The Saints’ "I’m Stranded". The cover songs were originally released as an exclusive 7" vinyl during their recent Australian tour. Only 200 copies were made and quickly sold-out on their tour. Much to the band’s pleasant surprise, Alexisonfire’s cover of "The Dead Heart" climbed to No. 6 in Australia, charting on the Hot 100 in Australia and the UK. "We love Australia and wanted to do something special," says Dallas Green. Midnight Oil is like the Australian Tragically Hip and, I mean, The Dead Heart is a great song! Wade chose The Saint’s cover. He loves early Australian punk." Release date: November 22, 2010 (Canada).

FOO FIGHTERS - EVERLONG
The Foo Fighters will headline night two of 2011's Isle of Wight festival, following on the heels of another American band, first night bill-toppers Kings of Leon. The third headliner of the British music event will be announced today. Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters have a busy year planned for 2011 with lots of touring. So far, they've announced three dates, all in Britain – July 2 and 3 at Milton Keynes Bowl and June 11 at Isle of Wight. The band are also working on a new album, which (last we heard) was going to be more "silly" and "heavy" than recent albums. In a statement, Isle of Wight promoter John Giddings said, "What band is more fitting to bring back for our 10th birthday than the Foos? They gave it their all in 2006 and have only become bigger and better since."
