PEARL JAM - AMONGST THE WAVES
Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has opened a skate park in his hometown of Big Sandy, Montana, according to The Great Falls Tribune. The rocker donated $40,000 to fund the park's construction and was at the site for its unveiling last week. Ament has been a skater since 1976. He said he plans on donating boards, helmets and pads to local children who can't afford to buy their own. "As small towns get smaller and smaller, I think it becomes more important for kids to have something to do outside of just school sports," he said. "My dad helped me build ramps, now I can give kids around here something else to do."

Keith Richards is to have a cameo role in the new Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. As in the previous film in the series, At World’s End, the Rolling Stones legend is to play the role of Captain Teague, Jack Sparrow’s dad. You remember that Johnny Depp famously admitted that he got Captian Jack Sparrow's maneurisms from watching and studying Keith Richards. When the casting agents for the movie franchise heard this, they knew they had to have Keith on set! The latest Pirates of The Caribbean film, On Stranger Tides, will open next May.
ROLLING STONES - GIMME SHELTER
U2 - MYSTERIOUS WAYS
U2 fans will have new music from the band early next year, according to manager Paul McGuinness. "I would expect a new U2 album sooner than anybody thinks," McGuinness told the Irish Times. "I would guess early 2011, before the next leg of the American tour, which starts in May." McGuinness' comments echo Bono's sentiments from his Rolling Stone interview back in August. When asked about playing rescheduled shows in North America next summer, Bono said "That's going to be great. We'll maybe have a new album – I think we probably will. So it's kind of wonderful. Those people are going to have tickets to a whole new show with new songs. It's going to be very exciting next year."
