AC/DC live is a rock n’ roll monster of a powerhouse. No question. Fans have always known this, but the music industry has been recognizing the band’s achievements of late, especially given the hugeness of the "Black Ice" world tour. Earlier this month, the band took home the "Top Boxscore Award" at the 2010 Billboard Touring Awards ceremony in New York, honoring AC/DC’s three sellout shows at Sydney's ANZ Stadium. Thursday night, AC/DC received more hardware, picking up the "Headline Performance of the Year" award at the 2010 UK Festival Awards. AC/DC’s performance at Donington’s Download Festival was the comfortable winner in the category; having brought their own stage set-up with them and not played at a UK festival since the early Eighties, it was always going to be difficult to beat the rock gods.

JIMI HENDRIX - ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER
Jimi Hendrix's much-loved Epiphone acoustic guitar will be sold at auction next month in London. The instrument was bought by the guitar great in New York when he was a struggling musician in the 1960s and he brought it with him when he moved to England. Spinner.com reports that this was the guitar on which he wrote and arranged many songs, including a reworking of Bob Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower." The guitar is expected to sell for in excess of £150,000 ($250,000) when it sells at Bonham's of London in December. The Sun newspaper reports that Hendrix's ex-girlfriend Kathy Etchingham said he had been very attached to the Epiphone instrument. "Jimi loved that guitar – he played it constantly."

Kevin Dubrow
October 29, 1955 – November 19, 2007
Kevin Dubrow is best remembered as the lead singer of the world famous ’80s metal band, Quiet Riot. The band was formed by guitar great, Randy Rhoads and Kelly Garni in 1973 with Dubrow coming on board shortly thereafter. After Rhoads left to join Ozzy Osbourne in 1980, the band was relaunched as Dubrow and eventually changed back to the name, Quiet Riot. In 1983, the band released Metal Health, and quickly became one of the era’s most popular rock bands thanks to heavy video play during MTV’s explosive early years. Hits like "Cum On The Noize" and "Metal Health" received heavy video and radio airplay, helping them fill arenas and stadiums across the U.S. and beyond. But by 1987, internal fighting and other factors lead to the departure of Dubrow who formed his own band while the others continued on as Quiet Riot with a different lead singer. Unfortunately, grunge would soon rear its ugly head and cast all such hard rock bands aside for the next several years. Dubrow eventually reunited with yet another line up of the band who, in 2006, released the album Rehab, and began touring again. But on or around November 19, 2007, Kevin Dubrow, age 52, died of an accidental cocaine overdose in his Las Vegas home. Although his body wasn’t discovered until November 25th, the coroner estimated his day of passing likely six days earlier. See Kevin at his best on todays 94Xposed page at 94xfm.com!
