94XPOSED THURSDAY

1982, during a Ozzy Osbourne concert in Des Moines, Iowa, a member of the audience threw an unconscious bat onto the stage. Thinking it was one of his rubber fakes, Ozzy picked it up and bit off its head. The singer was taken to hospital to be given a rabies injection.

MOTLEY CRUE - KICKSTART MY HEART

Motley Crue’s Vince Neil is to serve jail time following his arrest for drunk driving last year. The singer will spend two weeks in a Los Angeles prison followed by two weeks of house arrest after being caught over the limit in his Lambourghini at the end of June. It’s his second prison term for the same offence – he spent three weeks behind bars in 1984 after crashing his car while under the influence of alcohol. The incident caused the death of Hanoi Rocks drummer Razzle Dingley and seriously injured two people in another car.  Neil had claimed he’d stopped drinking just days before his arrest on June 26, 2010. Now the singer says: “I have recognised you can’t drink and drive at all. I take full responsibility for my actions and I will learn from this experience.”

Don’t worry, Queens of the Stone Age fans; Josh Homme is alive and well. But, he recently revealed to NME that he nearly met his final demise last year during a surgical procedure on his leg. Homme said that the surgery hit complications and that he was technically dead for a few moments before doctors revived him. The singer-guitarist was bed-ridden for a total of 3 months. In mid-December, his doctors gave him the OK to get up and start rocking once more. As previously reported, Queens of the Stone Age have begun work on a new album, their first since 2007’s Era Vulgaris. “We’re all just waiting to show each other all the ideas we’ve got,” Homme said. “Everybody’s trying to outdo each other with their iPod right now…”

GREEN DAY - AMERICAN IDIOT

Green Day’s Broadway musical version of “American Idiot” is getting a makeover for one week next month. Melissa Etheridge will be taking Billie Joe Armstrong’s place as “St. Jimmy” in the show while the Green Day singer is off taking care of other business. Armstrong had signed on to do 50 performances in the show, starting January 1 through to February 27, with some down time in that window. Etheridge will take over the role for one week, Feb. 1 to 6, in between Armstrong’s appearances running Tuesday to Jan. 30 and Feb. 10 to 27.
