KISS - STRUTTER The Red Hot Chili Peppers have unleashed an official mobile app that will keep fans up to date with the band and offer exclusive premieres of new videos, songs, and more. RHCP recently had to postpone their tour after Anthony Kiedis underwent surgery to repair a foot injury — this is the perfect example of the type of news you would get early notification of with the new RHCP app. The new app is now available for free on both the Android Market and iTunes Store and will also offer exclusive sneak peeks at upcoming Chili Pepper projects — like a behind-the-scenes look at their upcoming music video for 'Look Around.' The app also includes music, photos of the band, videos, a fan wall, tour dates, and more. ------------------------BREAK------------------------ Along with giving the world Don Cherry and being home to a lot of prisons, Kingston is famous for being the birthplace of the Tragically Hip. Although they've never really broken out internationally, they have been Canada's most successful rock band on the domestic market for a couple of decades. The city appreciates this and would like to do something to honour their accomplishments. Everyone seems to agree on that. What they don't agree on is how. The original proposal is to turn a portion of Barrack Street in front of the K-Rock Centre (the local arena) into Tragically Hip Way. It's a nice gesture plus it could become something of a tourist attraction. The problem is Barrack St. has special meaning to the military background of Kingston and changing the name has raised some eyebrows. I'll let you know how this battle shakes down over the next few weeks!
