The White Stripes are auctioning off a custom-made, red and white marimba for charity. The instrument, which was created for their 'Get Behind Me Satan' tour, made its live debut at the Fundidora Amphitheater de Coca Cola in Monterrey, Mexico, on May 11, 2005. It was used by the duo on the tour until Jack White flipped it over onstage in Osaka, Japan, in March 2006 and has been kept in its case ever since. The marimba is being auctioned to raise funds for people who have been affected by recent flooding in the Nashville area. Bids for the instrument can be made at Ebay.com until May 24.
The Revolver Golden Gods Awards make their way to television Saturday on VH1 Classic. Fozzy’s Chris Jericho and Andrew W.K. serve as co-hosts for this year’s event, and the hosting duties were not just limited to introductions. Jericho tells us that one of his favorite moments was shooting an opening vignette in which he and Andrew W.K. get to prove their worthiness of hosting the event. The bit was shot at the notorious metal hang, The Rainbow, in Los Angeles and features guest turns by Vinnie Paul and Chuck Billy. The ceremony airs this Saturday on VH1 Classic.

The site says: This will be a celebration of the life and music of Ronnie James Dio and is open to all of his friends and fans from around the world.
