The Foo Fighters literally rocked New Zealand earlier this week, when they actually generated measurable tremors. It happened on Tuesday, December 13 when the Foos played Western Springs Stadium in Auckland, to a sold-out 50,000 crowd. Local monitoring stations picked up what appeared to be tremors consistent with a volcanic eruption, except that the peaks of this activity came when the band were playing. Inbetween songs it all calmed down.

FOO FIGHTERS - ALL MY LIFE
VOLBEAT - FALLEN

There were some worries a month ago when Volbeat announced that their long time lead guitarist was leaving the band. But let those worries rest! Volbeat have a new guitarist. Mercyful Fate’s Hank Shermann has agreed to sit in with the group whenever they play the Gigantour trek with Megadeth, Motorhead and Lacuna Coil next month. “It’s a true honor getting to work with Hank, whose guitar work has inspired all three band members long before Volbeat was formed,” says singer Michael Poulsen. “I’m very thankful that Hank has the time to join us on Gigantour in his busy schedule.” Earlier this month, the band parted ways with Thomas Bredahl, who had been with the group since 2006.
