Some of Canada's biggest stars including Celine Dion, James Cameron, Michael J. Fox and the Tragically Hip will be taking part in a multi-network benefit for Haiti Friday night. CBC, CTV and Global Television will broadcast "Canada for Haiti" at 7 p.m. ET and PT. Other featured performances include Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Bono, Jay-Z and many others. In addition to the musical performances, "Hope for Haiti Now" will feature more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television and music supporting the cause with testimonials and by answering phones during the telethon. All musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song through iTunes beginning Saturday January 23 with all proceeds being donated to Red Cross for the Haiti Relief Effort.
TRAGICALLY HIP – COURAGE GORILLAZ – CLINT EASTWOOD The third studio album from Gorillaz, Plastic Beach, is due out March 9. The complete track list has been unveiled and the release includes a wide range of guest stars: Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed, De La Soul and Mick Jones & Paul Simonon of The Clash reunite for the cartoon album! --------------------BREAK----------------------- The Mayhem Festival featuring Korn and Rob Zombie will kick off Saturday, July 10 in San Bernardino, CA and will roll through 24 cities in the U.S. and Canada between early July and late August. The Jagermeister stage will feature Hatebreed, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, Winds Of Plague and the Jagermeister Battle of The Bands Winner. The second stage will spotlight Atreyu, Norma Jean, In This Moment and 3 Inches Of Blood. No Canadian Dates have been listed but are promised sometime in the near future. KORN – FREAK ON A LEASH MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE - TEENAGERS My Chemical Romance has completed work on their next full length, according to a Billboard report. Gerard Way also told NME that the band is planning a smaller club run for their next tour. Will Ferrell, incidentally, was O'Brien's first guest when he debuted as the host of "The Tonight Show" last June.
