94XPOSED MONDAY DECEMBER 21This day December 21, 1951, Nick Gilder (Sweeny Todd) was born. He turns 58. SWEENY TODD - It started as a facebook campaign to make sure that, for the first time in 4 years, the winner of the UK's "X-FACTOR" show (UK version of American Idol) would not have the #1 single this Christmas...and now Rage Against the Machine officially have the #1 UK single this Holiday Season, with their 1992 hit "Killing in the Name of" Here is the official statement: "Rage Against the Machine is honored to have been drafted by this historic grassroots campaign to make our song 'Killing in the Name' the No. 1 song on the UK Christmas Week pop chart. This is a huge victory by and for fans of real music and we extend our heartfelt thanks to every fan and freedom fighter who helped make our anthem of defiance and rebellion the Anarchy Christmas Miracle of 2009. "As promised we will play a free concert in the UK in celebration of this incredible upset victory over the heavily favored X-Factor single. We are also pleased that so much money has been raised for homeless charity Shelter and are happy to donate as well to aid this important cause. While there are many lessons that can be drawn from this historic upset, the main one is this: that ordinary people, banding together in solidarity, can change ANYTHING, be it the pop charts or the world." The song, first released in 1992, sold more than 500,000 copies last week to beat X Factor winner Joe McElderry's "The Climb" to the top of the chart. -------BREAK--------- Def Leppard used a comic book theme in the video for "Woman," the first single from their mega-selling 'Hysteria' album. Now it appears the band may take things a step further with a cartoon TV series. Last week Def Leppard announced that they inked a deal with Primary Wave Music Publishing & Marketing. Deals like this are signed all the time so we didn't cover the announcement. However, Reuters spoke with the CEO of the company and learned that one of their big plans is for an animated television show based on Def Leppard. "The project is still in the early stages, and has not been pitched to the networks, but it will depict the five members of the group in a fictional, adventurous setting, said Primary Wave CEO Larry Mestel." They apparently have gaming and cell phone plans as well. DEF LEPPARD - According to a TWITTER Message by GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, their Saturday GN'R concert in Tokyo, Japan was the band's longest performance ever at three hours and 37 minutes. The group's setlist was as follows: 01. Chinese Democracy Encore: 36. Madagascar
