94XPOSED TUESDAY FEBRUARY 22ND

2005 – Blink-182 announced they were going on indefinite hiatus after bowing out of a Music For Relief benefit performance earlier in the month. The group splintered into Tom DeLonge’s Angels & Airwaves project and Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker’s +44. Of course the guys have reunited and we are currently waiting for a new album expected this summer!

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS - CALIFORNICATION
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a title for their new album… and it’s a real mouthful! According to frontman Anthony Kiedis, the record is to be called (wait for it) Dr Johnny Skinz’s Disproportionately Rambunctious Polar Express Machine-head. This rather rambling title comes from experiences of a friend of the band while on acid "He was reminiscing about one of his legendary acid trips, and told us that he had been playing a sold-out show to the planets and moons, and his number-one hit was, well, that title."We found it so funny that we told him for as long as the album was under the radar, that that would be our nickname for it." There’s a good chance the album title will change by the time it’s released later in the year. Hoepfully not, as this is one of the more nuts titles I’ve ever heard – and I like it!

Slipknot’s Shawn "Clown" Crahan tells Kerrang! that the band will reconvene this spring to prepare for their summer tour, their first dates since the death of founding bassist Paul Gray. The percussionist says, "There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about Paul. I’m looking forward to reuniting with my brothers in May to begin preparing for the festival shows. I can’t wait to get on the road and grieve for my brother the proper way, with my seven other brothers. I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. We have to do this for Paul." The performances will take place overseas, and at present no performances have been announced for North America. With rumours of Corey Taylor being named the new lead man for Velvet Revolver, you have to wonder if this mini tour will be the last we see of Slipknot.

ALICE COOPER POISON
Alice Cooper reveals that Welcome II My Nightmare is "done." Alice made the revelation during his radio show Nights With Alice Cooper on Planet Rock last night, saying that the "Welcome II My Nightmare is done. It's just sitting there." There is no release date slated for the new record yet, but expect it at some point in the summer when Alice hits the road once more for a European tour, including a show at the Download Festival.
