1999 – Marilyn Manson issued a statement sending his condolences to the families who lost children during the Columbine shootings in Colorado. This came after North American Media learned that the two young men who had committed the brutal assault listened to Manson regularly and unfairly reported that it was Mansons music and lyrics that caused them to act out violently.

Ottawa’s Leberton Flats will play host to numerous bands from various genres this summer. The Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest runs July 6th through July 18th, with multiple stages set up for acts each day. Arcade Fire, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, The Hold Steady, Passion Pit, Metric, and The Swell Season are among the acts performing. There will also be sets from Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Andrew Bird, Great Lake Swimmers, B-52’s, Jon Butler Trio, Joan Jett, The Aggrolites, Moneen, Steve Winwood, Old Crow Medicine Show, Blonde Redhead, and Drake. Are The Black Crowes about to say farewell yet again? This summer, the band will kick off their Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys 2010 Tour, which will feature three-hour performance sets in most markets. "Say Goonight To The Bad Guys"? There's not too many ways one can take that little line lifted from Scarface. Or is there? The tour will begin on 13 August in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is scheduled to conclude with the band's annual multi-night stand at the Fillmore in San Francisco on 19 December. As to whether this is the end of the band - they've already broken up once - singer Chris Robinson said, "With a smile so wide you can count my teeth and with a heart so full of love that it is spilling over the rim, I offer a humble and simple thank you. Thank you for your time, your imaginations, your heartaches and joy. "Thank you for 20 years of cosmic rock 'n' roll. Twenty years of keeping it weird. Twenty years of chasing horizons...This year the music is only for you as we celebrate what has been, what is now and whatever will be."

Hellyeah feature two members of Mudvayne (vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett), plus one member of Nothingface (guitarist Tom Maxwell), a former member of Damageplan (bassist Bob Zilla), all topped off with former Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul. They released their self-titled, debut album in 2007, following which they played at the Download festival and toured America as part of the Family Values experience. Tiger, Tiger, Tiger. You sure know how to stay relevant in the media! Reports out of Florida revealed that Tiger Woods was partying it up backstage at Nickelback's show in Orlando's Amway Arena on Monday (April 19) night, "shrouded by security." This shouldn't really be that surprising, considering Woods has appeared on stage with Nickelback before, and Chad Kroeger's lyrics are, you know, full of balls that aren't exactly for playing golf. Actually, it probably explains a lot about Woods. And Nickelback. Woods was at the centre of a scandal last fall when it was revealed he was unfaithful to his wife and over 15 women came forward saying he'd slept with them and sent them dirty text messages. He returned to golf last week when he played The Masters, finishing fourth. Kroeger met up with Canadian prime minister Stephen Harper for some buddy time earlier this month.
