1987 - Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue was pronounced dead on arrival in an ambulance when his heart stopped beating for two minutes. Sixx was given two shots of adrenaline in his chest to revive him. Fellow band members were prematurely informed of his death.

While on tour with Green Day last summer, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong announced that the band were recording concerts to garner material for a future live album. A few months later, that record now has a name and a release date. On March 15, Green Day will release a live album titled Awesome as [Expletive] in the U.K., according to a listing on Amazon.co.uk. The live record, which is listed as a two-disc set, will likely come out in the U.S. and other regions around the same time. There's no word yet on a track list, although the band played the never-released "Cigarettes" after making the announcement back in August. Green Day have one previous live album to their credit. In 2006, they released Bullet in a Bible, recorded at the Milton Keynes Bowl in 2005, while on tour to promote American Idiot. Deluxe copies of that album also came with a DVD of the show.

Readers of British rock magazine Q have voted Radiohead’s’ OK Computer the best album of the past 25 years. Nirvana’s Nevermind came second with Oasis’s (What's The Story) Morning Glory? third. Paul Rees, Q's editor-in-chief, stated: "In the 13 years since its release, OK Computer's appeal to Q and its readers has grown exponentially. We originally hailed it as a masterpiece and that isn't an opinion that we havent even considered modifying ever since.

The Foo Fighters played a secret show in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (Dec. 21), returning to one of singer Dave Grohl's favorite "Valley" haunts, rock club Paladino's. In advance of their last album, 2007's "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," Grohl and gang also used the Tarzana dive to introduce new music to a core group of diehard fans, family members and famous friends. Three years later, the scene was no different. Among the famous faces in the crowd were actors Ryan Phillippe, Amanda Seyfried and Shane West who took in a set list which featured more than its share of Foos hits. The band also debuted several new songs, "Dear Rosemary," "White Limo," and "Back and Forth," the latter which may end up as the title of the their seventh album. So the guys have recorded the new album, its in mastering right now and they are doing warm up shows. This could only mean that a new Foo's album is just around the corner!!!
