STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - CREEP Green Day played a surprise gig in California recently, unveiling 15 new tracks in the process. The show, which took place at the Tiki Bar in Cosa Mesa, was a last-minute scheduling decision. The fansite Greendayauthority.com caught the show and reported that, in addition to the new tracks, the punk rockers also surprised the crowd with a cover of Ozzy Osbourne's "Goodbye to Romance." Recently, front man Billie Joe Armstrong told fans that the band was in the studio writing new songs; apparently, they are further along than any one might have imagined. A new album has not been announced but after this show, we have to assume that one is in the works for next year....maybe earlier!!! -----------------------BREAK------------------------ In celebration of the band's 20th anniversary, Pearl Jam will appear as musical guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on September 8th and 9th, marking the band's debut appearances on the show. "Pearl Jam Twenty" director Cameron Crowe will also be the guest on September 8th to discuss the new documentary, which will debut at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, September 10. All of this action takes place just days after the "Pearl Jam Twenty" festival on September 3 and 4 in Wisconsin, where they will be joined by The Strokes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Mudhoney and almost 10 other acts.
PEARL JAM - AMONGST THE WAVES Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge hopes the band's fans will support a cancer awareness campaign after he was diagnosed with the illness last year. And he's making use of his alter ego Boomer to promote the Keep A Breast programme and its "I Heart Boobies" bracelets. DeLonge's Boomer Hearts Boobies scheme offers the chance to buy limited-edition meet-and-greets with Blink, merchandise, original artwork and AAA packages during the band's current tour.
