Five Finger Death Punch are hitting the road in March for a North American tour focused on Canada and the Western United States. Five Finger Death Punch have tapped Soulfly as direct support, and the tour will also feature Windowpane and Persist. 5FDP will headline Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and more, while also playing a special Las Vegas hometown show alongside other western-US markets. --------------------------BREAK---------------------------- U.K. music magazine New Music Express has selected Noel Gallagher as the recipient of the Godlike Genius Award at this year’s NME Awards. “I would like to thank NME for bestowing upon me such a great accolade,” said the singer/guitarist. “I have dreamt of this moment since I was 43 years old. I accept that I am now a genius, just like God.” Last year’s winner was Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and other past “Godlike Genius” title holders include Paul Weller, The Clash, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, New Order, and Joy Division. The NME Awards take place February 29th at London’s O2 Academy Brixton.

The two-time Grammy-nominated band were among the highest ranking artists featured in Billboard's annual 'The Year in Music' issue, with their RIAA Gold certified album, 'Awake,' approaching 900,000 in sales. The album's chart-topping single, 'Awake and Alive,' came in at #3 on the Active Rock Songs tally, with Skillet also being named among the top 10 acts on the Active Rock Artists chart. --------------------------BREAK---------------------------- Longtime Phoenix resident Alice Cooper will be the guest of honor at a Phoenix Coyotes home game next month. Alice will be on hand to drop the puck for the February 18 match between the Coyotes and the Dallas Stars. The Coyotes will be giving away Alice Cooper bobbleheads to the first 10,000 fans in the door as part of military appreciation night. Alice is a season ticket holder and an avid hockey fan.
