U2 will headline this year’s Glastonbury festival after having to pull out at short notice last year following singer Bono’s back problems. Guitarist The Edge says: “There’s something special and iconic about that stage, so we’re looking forward to picking up where we left off.”

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl dedicated his NME Godlike Genius Award to his late Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain in London on Wednesday night.

 

After a standing ovation Grohl joked, "You guys realize they gave this one to a drummer, right? This one's for the drummers!"

 

He finished his acceptance speech by dedicating his award to Cobain, who died in 1994.

Grohl told the crowd, "This one's for Kurt."

Marilyn Manson drummer Ginger Fish has left the band. He says: “I have decided to step down and see where my life and the knowledge of my availability takes me. I can’t watch opportunities pass me by simply because my availability wasn’t clearly expressed. I wish my brothers well.” The decision may have been inspired by his short stint with Rob Zombie, where he stood in for Joey Jordison in the US.

Hendrix now has a mosaic made from over 5,000 Fender guitar pieces

The portrait, created by Manchester artist Ed Chapman, will be unveiled at a charity event in London.

The 39-year-old said the 120cm x 100cm work took him several days to complete.

"Jimi Hendrix is a guitar maestro and nobody played a Fender guitar like him," Chapman said.

"There's no better place for it to go on sale than at a legendary home of music and I hope it raises as much as possible for charity."
